The first week of school's over! Three-day weekend! Wahoo! I worked on one of my commissions-in-progress today. A t-shirt design. I'm not completely happy with it yet. I practiced dance for the first time this week, too. The YMCA dance room floor was being re-somethinged, so I was stuck with the stationary bicycle room which had no floor cushioning whatsoever.

Yay! I found the power cable for my scanner! I can scan my comic strip sketches in! Er, after I do my homework... Gosh, I just started classes Tuesday (yesterday) and I already have a test on a whole history chapter on Friday. Lalala. Irish dance fall session starts next week. Meanwhile, I haven't been practicing. Oop. Well, once I get all organized...

Omigosh, in one of my classes, the teacher was taking a sort of survey to know us better or something. Two of the questions were "Did you do anything interesting this summer?" and "What did you spend the most money on this summer?" You could probably figure out my answers.

*sigh* First day of school. It wouldn't have been half as miserable if there was air condidtioning. Or if the cool days of fall were not so far away. Or if I hadn't gone to bed at one in the morning and gotten up at six. Must do homework now... yes, now!

Ya! I'm competing in open at the rest of this year's feiseanna with teacher's approval! ...which would be Iowa State and Pat Roche. Ish very good, because if I won one more first place in novice, I might have gotten beaten up or had my hardshoes stolen or something. ;) If I'd not been allowed to compete in open, I would definitely not be going to those last two feiseanna. Except for the four-hand I'm in at Pat Roche. Gee, I had enough fellow competitors and parents upset at me at St. Louis. It might not have been fair to them, but it definitely wasn't fair to me. It's not my fault that I did my best and got three firsts.... I know it's no use getting mad at something I had little control over, but I really wish I'd competed in open at St. Louis for another reason. I saw quite a few of my age group's open comps, and as my dad pointed out, there were only four competitors in them. That means that if I'd competed with them, not only would I have had a brilliant oppurtunity to place, but there would be five of us, and therefore placing would actually count toward advancing to prelims. Grumble.

I'm back from St. Louis Gateway feis! My dad, my brother, and I left Friday for the long drive there. We pretty much just got back. I took advantage of the long drives by working on those history reports and sketching out stuff for more comics (finally!). Unfortunately, the reports may still take up the rest of my summer (today and tomorrow) so don't expect any updates for a bit! I know I must put up pictures from Milwaukee and this last feis. And those comics... Yeah. But it'll be worth the wait, now, won't it? So if you're wondering how I did at the feis: fourths in reel and slip jig and first places in jig, treble jig, and hornpipe. Fwee!

If you couldn't tell, I've been busy! :) Let's see, I have St. Louis Gateway Feis this Saturday, school starts next Tuesday, I have summer homework due that Tuesday, and I still haven't cleaned my room. Well, I've started cleaning. But the book reports have been going ever-so-slowly. I'm working on the harder one first. Not sure why. So today Ashe decided to alter my donated ID/SW Clique dolls. You must check them out! They're hilariously deliciously EVIL! >:) I actually had (really!) a similar idea, minus the red glowing eyes... *shiver* I have an extremely funny idea for another, except I must first find a reference picture of Yoda... *ponders* AGH! *frustrated* I must get a program with which to make animated GIFs! I have endless ideas! Now, why ideas for animated GIFs and not new Tir na nOg comics, I have no idea.

Yay, I have a nice layout now! :) It's also my first experiment with frames, since I usually hate frames. If you're on the blogger page, you have to go here to see it.

I'm experimenting with new layouts for this blog, so things might get a tad crazy here for a while.

So. In just two days I finished the remainder of my first summer homework book and got over halfway through the second. Yay! I now dread writing the reports on them. It shouldn't be too incredibly hard, but I'm not a good writer person thingy. And Erin's back from camp, so I'm not the only regular at the IDO now! Whee! Actually, the aforementioned two days of reading was actually more like one since I was away practically the whole day. Hence no oekaki today. Which is okay, because I've been drawing on oekaki too much and not developing my Photoshop skills. ;)

Hehe. Darn procrastination. Darn internet addiction. I'm determined to get myself into productive habits in time for school, as to provide adequate ID practice time, but those two seem to get in the way. May I mention my summer homework yet again? Hm. If it weren't for that, I'd be busily working on more comics and tutorials. Kind of sad that I have a whole section with close to nothing in it except for an ode to my wonderful tablet. I've been looking for cliques to join outside the realm of Irish dance for no real reason. I'm paranoid that through a clique, someone will find a link to a link to a site with naughty content. Bah. I did find a lot of sites with breathtaking layouts; it's a shame that they take five minutes to load and then have teeny tiny text that's almost the same color as the background. Hm, must clean my room as well... 'tis very good I don't have a web cam. I'll do that (the cleaning) after I get my homework done. And I'll do that... tomorrow. ;)

I had dance class yesterday. I still have AP Euro summer homework, so it may delay updates for a while. Lalala... I'm just writing this message to demonstrate what a blog is to my friend. :)

WHOOO! I got first place in reel today at Milwaukee Feis! I'll be in all open (prizewinner) dances next year! I also got another first, a second, a third, and a fifth. My, such a long day. My legs hurt so bad. Hmm, I haven't made any new cartoons lately. I guess I have some ideas. Just need to get them on paper.

Artist's block. Ick. I think I'm getting over it, though. I sketched out a really spiffy solo dress design. Hopefully it'll make its way into my gallery before the weekend. I'm going to Milwaukee Feis this Saturday.

I oekaki'd today. It's really different from anything I've done before. Wanna see?
