Whoo. Rough week. I will soon have to give a 3-4 minute speech for English on why I'm good at art... New layout at the main site, by the way. Check it out.

I modified the layout. The last one was starting to annoy me. Anway. Two weeks ago in Art Club, we made watercolor prints. First, we painted our pictures with watercolors on rectangular pieces of glass. Each glass was put on a piece of wet watercolor paper and we used a rolling pin to press them together. I'm not sure what the point was, but it does make a cool, spongy effect. I did a cherry tree, and used funky colors to make it a little more exciting. I guess it could be peaceful or depressing, depending on how you look at it.

I don't know about you, but I could use some summer. This must've been the first time I actually filled up a whole page of my sketchbook with one drawing.

Sketchy sketchy! Today is my second day of the second semester. Hmm. I had Art Club today. Acrylic painting has got to be the most fun thing ever. Only got halfway done with it tho. And I have Irish dance later today. Lucky me. ^^

Winterfeis would be a lot nicer if it wasn't so long and didn't start so early. Tired I am indeed. And I got an ugly scrape and bruise on my right foot while dancing Garden of Daisies. However I managed to do it, the judge must not have seen; I got first. Of course, that traditional set happened to be my first dance so I had to go through the rest of the day with an aching foot. I also got fourth in slip jig. Go me.
So I got to sit around with next to nothing to do for quite a few hours total, waiting between dances. Which means my little blue sketchbook has some new additions, including sketches for a Tir na nOg comic strip and this thing:

Oooh, animation is fun... Utterly pointless and time consuming, but quite fun. So guess what I made... Good Dublin, I'm never doing anything that detailed again. At least until summer. But I'm rather proud of it. Imagine drawing a background, then then drawing 15 line sketches, then coloring those 15 sketches, shading them, and cleaning them up. Eeeg, I just realized the thing's only three seconds long. To think some people do this for a living.

I'm free I'm free! No school until Tuesday! But no piccies for you today. I just started one, still working on the rough sketch. And I'm off to dance soon, so you'll just have to wait. But Raymond is becoming quite the artist as well as a bigger update freak than me, so you can check out his site for your Irish dance art fix. ;)

Well, the Enetation commenting system was making loading reeaaally slow. So no commenting until I find a PHP-powered do-it-yourself kind. Of couse, it's not like I need a commenting system, considering I probably won't get any comments. Whatever.

New layout ahoy! I'm revolutionizing my weblog. Nobody seems interested in traditional online journals anymore (including me), so I'm declaring this an artblog. And here's a little art to start it off.

Yay, I have a commenting system here now! Ah, well, back to school tomorrow for me. Finals and the end of Driver's Edumacation are the next week. My AP Euro final is this coming Sunday. *runs from cloud of doom* The nice thing is that out of the three days of normal finals, I only have exams on two of them. Squee. I'll have Thursday to fool around all day... I mean... get ahead in schoolwork. ;)

Christmas vacation is like a candy cane. You kinda chew on it and chew on it and love it then get a little bored and wonder when it'll end, and before you realize it, it's gone and life is like it was before but with a minty aftertaste... So *ehem* Raymond asked me for a curly hair tutorial. That'll probably be the next thing I work on as soon as homework lets up. And now I make my belated new years resolutions: to get more sleep (hence the ultimately kawaii Nyago layout), to not procrastinate so that I can get more sleep, to practice dance regularly, and to, uh.... enjoy life? Speaking of lack of sleep, I'm beginning to think that the majority of artists (online artists at least) are moody, sleep-deprived procrastinators like myself. Makes you wonder whether being an artist makes you that way, or if being that way makes you an artist, or both. Then again, there's Mitsu, my anime-drawing friend, who never ever gets less than eights hours of sleep. On the other hand, she's delightfully crazy. Well, who knows. We artists are just strange folk I guess. At least it's not a boring life.

New blog layout, whoo! Now I have a place for all the little sketches I make in Trig... I'll probably cycle the old ones out after a while. And the photo gallery probably won't be up until after finals, maybe way after finals. I have a life to live, unfortunately. ;)

Yay! New Ghillie Studio layout up! W00t! And Blogger's publishing for me again! For now, anyway. Next thing is I'm going to work on this blog. It's going to become my personal mini-site. I have to move my photos here, and then add all the new ones that have been accumulating. And... well, you'll see. Good night.
