Monet's River Scene

In my noble quest to waste time, I gave my desktop a Monet makeover. Never thought I'd get sick of Starry Night , but I did. Behold the impressionism/post-impressionism fandom.

Tomorrow is my last day of class! Whoo! And hey, this site is already the first Google result for impasto + blog and on the lovely fifth page for impasto. But alas, I must return to cramming now.

Note (June 2004): It's not generally accepted that Monet actually painted River Scene. Beware the Google Image Search! However, I still think it's a cool painting.

Meh. Mild depression. No Irish dance lessons until mid-June. Finals this week and the next. But drawing is better than studying; there's quite a lot of that accumulating in my sketchbook. I'll start from the beginning, and maybe I'll eventually catch up.

There's nothing quite like opening a fresh sketchbook and touching a pencil tip to that first clean page. So natural, yet profound; like waking up to a new day. Black Velvet is not dead. Only shelved and mothballed. It's still accessible, and I will re-template it as soon as this New Blogger madness settles down.
